Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power outage affecting six counties on Sunday, June 16, 2024. According to a statement released on their official website, the blackout is part of routine network maintenance. Nairobi, Kakamega, Busia, Siaya, Bungoma, and Laikipia counties will be impacted by this maintenance activity.
Specifically in Nairobi, the outage will affect various areas including Donholm, Savannah, Saika, Umoja 3, and Dakar Road. The affected areas within these neighborhoods include specific landmarks and residential estates.
In Kakamega, the blackout will cover Mumias and Ingotse, impacting areas such as Mumias Town, Ekero, Shianda, Khwisero, Ingotse, Lutaso, and Musaga during the early morning hours.
Busia County will also experience the outage affecting Busia Town, Korinda, Rwambwa, Bumala, and Port Victoria during the same time frame.
Siaya’s blackout will affect Ugunja Town, Rang’ala Complex, Nyamninia, Sawagongo, Sigomere, Dominion Farm, Siaya Prison, and Ukwala.
Bungoma will experience the outage in areas including Bungoma Town, Kanduyi, Mabanga, Kibabii University, Sibembe, Malakisi, and Butonge.
Laikipia’s outage will impact Nanyuki Town, covering locations such as Cidar Mall, Huruma Hospital, Sports Man Arms Hotel, the Governor’s office, Lerustic Hotel, Nanyuki Mall, and Cottage Hospital during the specified hours.
These planned outages are necessary for maintenance purposes and are scheduled to minimize inconvenience to customers in these regions.
