Facebook, Instagram and whatsapp are not working. Facebook, Instagram and whatsapp are not responding. In a huge outage, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook have all gone down. The three apps, all of which are owned by Facebook and run on common infrastructure, stopped working altogether shortly before 5 p.m. (12pm EST) on 4th October, 2021. Facebook Workplace and other products from the same family of apps have also ceased working.

There’s no word yet from Facebook on what’s causing the issue or when those sites, including Messenger and WhatsApp, will be back up and running, but we’ll update this item as soon as we have more information.
