Airbnb and lodging guests to submit IDs
The government of Kenya directs security officers to temporarily hold identification documents for lodging and airbnb visitors
Private security officers and guards manning accommodations facilities, airbnb, lodgings, and hospitality businesses have been instructed to record visitors identification documents. The security personnel guarding these facilities must take details of visitors and retain them temporarily. The directive from Private Security Regulatory Authority on 15th January 2023 comes in the wake of two murder incidents witnessed in a private apartments that offered lodging services within Nairobi area.
