Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Part-Time Fire Alarm System Installation Technician to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing fire alarm systems at various client sites.

This role is best suited for experienced technicians who are looking for flexible work arrangements while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed site surveys and assess client premises to determine the most suitable fire alarm system design and installation approach.

  • Install fire alarm control panels, smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, sirens, and all associated devices.

  • Perform system wiring, configuration, and integration in accordance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.

  • Test, commission, and certify fire alarm systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on existing fire alarm systems.

  • Identify faults and implement effective solutions in a timely and professional manner.

  • Prepare accurate and detailed installation, maintenance, and service reports.

  • Provide clients with clear guidance on system usage, safety procedures, and basic troubleshooting.

  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with Kenyan fire safety regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.

  • Proven hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems.

  • Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable in Kenya.

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks efficiently.
