Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Solar Energy Systems Installation Technician to join our team on a freelance or contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of solar power systems at client sites.
This role is ideal for a technician who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and passionate about renewable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate solar installation feasibility, including roof condition, orientation, and shading analysis.
- Install solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, batteries, and associated electrical components.
- Perform system wiring, connections, and integration with existing electrical systems.
- Test, commission, and ensure optimal performance of solar energy systems.
- Diagnose faults and carry out troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of solar systems.
- Ensure all installations comply with electrical standards and safety regulations in Kenya.
- Prepare accurate installation reports and documentation.
- Educate clients on system usage, maintenance, and energy-saving practices.
- Work closely with the team to ensure timely and professional project delivery.
Requirements:
- Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Proven experience in solar system installation and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and charge controllers.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and electrical standards.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and at heights when required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
