Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Starlink Installation Technician to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Starlink satellite internet systems for residential and commercial clients.
This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with experience in networking, outdoor installations, and customer support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys to determine the best installation location for Starlink equipment, ensuring a clear view of the sky with minimal obstructions.
- Install Starlink satellite dishes, mounting kits, and routing cables securely and professionally.
- Set up and configure Starlink routers and ensure proper internet connectivity.
- Integrate Starlink internet with existing LAN networks, including switches, access points, and structured cabling.
- Test and optimize internet performance, including speed and signal stability.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues and perform maintenance or repairs when required.
- Ensure proper cable management and weatherproofing for outdoor installations.
- Educate clients on system usage, basic troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Prepare installation reports and documentation for each project.
- Adhere to safety standards, especially when working at heights or on rooftops.
Requirements:
- Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology, Networking, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in internet installation, networking, or satellite systems.
- Familiarity with Starlink systems or similar satellite internet solutions is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN networking and WiFi configuration.
- Ability to work at heights and handle outdoor installations safely.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
